# News Feed

**Panel code: `N`**

The News Feed delivers real-time headlines filtered to your active ticker. Stories are sourced from wire services, financial news providers, and curated aggregators.

***

## How it works

The News Feed listens to the **active ticker** set in the command bar. When you switch tickers, the feed instantly filters to headlines tagged with that symbol.

Each headline shows:

| Field | Description |
| --------------- | ------------------------------------------------ |
| **Headline** | Story title — click to open the full article |
| **Source** | Publisher name (e.g. Reuters, Bloomberg, Zack's) |
| **Date & Time** | UTC timestamp of publication |
| **Ticker tag** | The primary symbol the story is filed under |
| **Breaking** | Red `BREAKING` badge for high-priority stories |

## Sources

## Filtering

### By ticker

The feed follows your active ticker automatically. You can also pin a secondary ticker by right-clicking a headline and selecting **Pin ticker** — the feed will show stories for both symbols.

### By source

Click the **Sources** button in the panel toolbar to toggle individual news sources on or off.

### Breaking only

Toggle **Breaking only** mode to suppress routine headlines and surface only flagged breaking stories.

***

## Opening stories

Click any headline to open the article in a new browser tab. Vorxis does not frame external content — links always open cleanly on the publisher's site.

***

> **Data latency:** Breaking stories appear within seconds of wire publication. Standard stories may have a 1–3 minute aggregation delay depending on the source.
