# Chart

**Panel code: `G`**

The Chart panel renders price history as candlestick or line charts for your active ticker. It updates in real-time as new prices arrive from the data feed.

## Changing the active ticker

The chart follows the **active ticker** set in the command bar. Type a symbol and press `Enter` — the chart reloads with the new symbol's data.

## Timeframes

Use the timeframe buttons at the top of the panel to change the period:

| Button | Period                      |
| ------ | --------------------------- |
| `1m`   | 1 minute candles (intraday) |
| `5m`   | 5 minute candles            |
| `15m`  | 15 minute candles           |
| `1H`   | Hourly candles              |
| `1D`   | Daily candles               |
| `1W`   | Weekly candles              |

## Chart types

Toggle between **Candlestick** and **Line** view using the chart type button in the panel toolbar. Candlestick shows open/high/low/close; Line shows closing price only.

## Overlays

> **Coming soon.** Moving averages (SMA/EMA), Bollinger Bands, VWAP, and volume bars are on the roadmap.

## Zooming and panning

* **Scroll** horizontally to pan through history
* **Pinch** (trackpad) or **scroll + modifier** to zoom in and out
* **Double-click** to reset to the default view

## Maximise

Press `⌘ ⇧ F` to expand the Chart panel to full screen. This is particularly useful for detailed technical analysis. Press again to restore.

> **Data note:** Historical price data is sourced from the configured market data provider (`MARKET_DATA_PROVIDER`). In simulator mode, data is synthetically generated and does not reflect real market prices.
