# Overview

Vorxis has a **command bar** at the bottom of the terminal — a single unified input for setting tickers, running commands, and opening tools. It is the fastest way to interact with the terminal without using the mouse.

## Focusing the command bar

| Method             | Action                          |
| ------------------ | ------------------------------- |
| `` ` `` (backtick) | Focus command bar from anywhere |
| `:` (colon)        | Focus command bar from anywhere |
| `⌘ /`              | Focus command bar               |
| Click              | Click the bar directly          |

Press `Esc` to blur the command bar without running a command.

## Command syntax

Commands follow this pattern:

```
TICKER VERB [arguments]
```

Examples:

```
AAPL CRD          ← Show ticker card for Apple
NVDA CRD          ← Show ticker card for NVIDIA
TSLA              ← (no verb) — just sets the active ticker
```

If you type only a ticker with no verb, pressing `Enter` sets it as the **active ticker** across all panels without opening any view.

## Ticker history

Press `↑` and `↓` in the command bar to cycle through recently entered tickers and commands. Vorxis maintains a session history of your last 20 inputs.

## Clearing the bar

Press `⌘ L` to clear the command bar input without blurring focus.

## Available commands

| *(none)* | `AAPL`     | Set active ticker                    |
| `CRD`    | `AAPL CRD` | Open a floating ticker snapshot card |

| **Region selector** | Current server region + latency. Click to switch          |
| **Status dot**      | `● LIVE` (green), `● DEGRADED` (amber), `● OFFLINE` (red) |
| **Clock**           | Live UTC clock with your local offset                     |
| **?**               | Opens the in-app help modal                               |
