# CRD — Ticker Card

**Syntax:** `TICKER CRD`

**Examples:** `AAPL CRD` · `NVDA CRD` · `SPY CRD`

The `CRD` command opens a compact **ticker card** — a focused, single-stock view that floats over the terminal. The card updates live and can be popped out into a **native OS window** that stays visible while you work in any other application.

***

## Running the command

In the command bar at the bottom of the terminal, type the ticker followed by `CRD` and press `Enter`:

```
NVDA CRD
```

A card appears immediately inside the terminal:

The card is intentionally minimal — ticker, live price, percentage change, and point change. Clean enough to keep open at all times without cluttering your workspace.

***

## Popping out to a native window

Click the **⤢ icon** in the top-right corner of the card. The browser opens the card in a **separate native OS window** — a real window with its own title bar, completely detached from the Vorxis tab.

This window:

* Lives outside the browser tab, so you can move it to a second monitor or corner of your screen
* Stays on top of other applications while you use Excel, a trading platform, or anything else
* Continues updating the price and change figures in real-time via the same WebSocket connection
* Survives switching browser tabs — the card keeps ticking even when Vorxis itself is in the background

**On Chrome** the window title shows `Card (port)` — e.g. `Card (1453)`.\
**On Safari** the window title bar is clean with no distracting URL chrome. Safari is recommended if you want the tidiest desktop widget experience.

***

## Multiple cards at once

Run `CRD` for as many tickers as you like — each opens its own independent window:

```
AAPL CRD
NVDA CRD
TSLA CRD
```

Three pop-out windows, each tracking a different stock. Arrange them in a corner of your screen as a live watchlist companion while you work in other applications.

## Closing a card

| Method              | Action                                      |
| ------------------- | ------------------------------------------- |
| Click `✕`           | Closes the card (in-terminal or popped out) |
| `Esc`               | Closes an in-terminal card                  |
| Close the OS window | Closes a popped-out card normally           |

***

## Other ways to open a card

You don't have to use the command bar every time:

* **Market Heatmap** — right-click any tile → **Open Card**
* **Quote Monitor** — right-click any row → **Open Card**
* **Chatroom** — click any `$TICKER` tag → opens the card for that symbol

***

## Settings

Click the **⚙ icon** on the card to configure:

| Setting           | Options                                 |
| ----------------- | --------------------------------------- |
| **Theme**         | Dark (default) · Light                  |
| **Size**          | Compact · Normal · Large                |
| **Show exchange** | Toggle the `US` / `LSE` exchange suffix |

Settings persist per card across sessions.

> **Roadmap:** Upcoming CRD additions include a sparkline mini-chart, bid/ask spread, day range bar, earnings date countdown, and one-click alert setting — all without expanding the card's footprint. The card is designed to stay small and fast.
